Scuba Weight Chart
We have the highest teenage and childhood obesity rates today than at any other point in the long history of the world. Much of the blame for this is in fast food, low energy society that we have become. Too often we think it is safer to keep our children inside our homes rather than out and about in nature. The things we are doing to protect our children are actually detrimental to the health of our children.
There are things however that are being done to solve the problem and achieve greater participation of our children, more active and better educated about decision making good about diet, nutrition, fitness and overall health. The problem for most adolescents is to remove them from the computer, telephone, or away from the television long enough to be active.
Even video games are joining the Law of the children up and active creating games such as Play Station 2's Dance Party Revolution and the new Nintendo Wii gaming system that seem to be taking the market by storm. These systems allow consumers, to actively participate in the adventure game rather than sit and play the game in a static environment. It is a great way to get teens to their seats and active. These games are also fun for adults and have the same effect when it comes to activity. Whoever thought it would actually promote play for exercise?
Get out and Get Active
Teens learn by example and whether they care to admit or not, usually enjoy doing things as part of the family. Go rock wall climbing or mountaineering. Bicycling family. Camping in the great out doors and go hiking, boating, or biking again. Learn a new sport together. It's amazing what fun you can have learning how to scuba dive and while at it, neither of which are consumed empty calories. Even if the sport does not involve face together a large amount of physical activity that is likely more active than sitting watching TV.
Have your teen join a recreational team sports. We have all kinds of sports teams available in our community where our youth can participate. Even those who have no skills at all can come together and play some of the leagues while other leagues are competitive. Out and about a softball game, soccer game, and volleyball, even can be a great way for families to do something together and the games and practices are opportunities for your child to be active.
Lawn job is another way out and get active with your child. The key, as always, burn more calories in their teenage consumers he or she. It is often easier said than done, but it is very possible if we work to get out. Find things however that will be interesting to your child and focus on more than torture with activities that have no interest at all (working and maybe not the yard). In any case, filling their time with activities is also allowing time that are not calories they consume, and that is something well worth considering.
Encourage your child to eat healthier foods. Eliminate calorie laden lumps, juices fruit and energy drinks from your pantry shelves, and encourage your teens to drink plenty of water each day. Set as vegetables as possible to the diet of their teens and get rid of valuables prepackaged convenience that adolescents are notorious for depleting in one sitting. Also having your teens participate actively in the preparation and clean up for meals will help them pay more attention to the things they put in their mouths, as well as the messes they make in the process.
